Barking Water This film by writer/director Sterlin Harjo (Seminole and Creek Nations) premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. The road to Barking Water offers a glimpse into a people and a place rarely seen on the screen, the Native Indigenous landscape and culture of Oklahoma. Lyrically beautiful and emotionally resonate, “Barking Water” reflects the psychologically rich territories of family and home and what it takes to get there. Directed by Serlin Harjo, up and coming Native American storyteller whose work has been recognized by the Sundance Institute and Film Festival. Starring Richard Ray Whitman and Casey Camp-Horinek. Jim Thorpe, The World's Greatest Athlete Director and co-writer Tom Weidlinger teamed up with co-writer Joseph Bruchac, the Abenaki author and storyteller in this film biography of the legendary Jim Thorpe. This profile of American Indian sports legend Jim Thorpe uses recreations, old recordings, photos and rare film footage for a warm and personal look at a bigger-than-life and still widely misunderstood 20th-century character.
